Alan Hunt Bird Artist and illustrator

Alan Hunt

Alan has been painting for some forty years during which time much of his work has been reproduced as prints and cards for organisations such as the National Trust and his originals feature in many private collections. Introduced to bird watching in his childhood he soon found that his enjoyment of drawing became a useful tool in helping identification, so began a lifetime of bird painting. His favorite part of the world is the north Norfolk coast which provides endless painting material.
"Whilst I use photographs for reference there is nothing like being in the outdoors where nature isn't limited to a frame in a split second. It changes all the time and there are no boundaries or limitations. Water is especially fascinating with the interplay of light, shadow and reflection which changes again into a myriad of patterns with a passing water bird. Whilst much of my work is in watercolour I like to combine this with acrylics depending on the subject."
Private commissions have come with trips to Africa, South America and the USA and include animals and landscapes. Please contact Alan for original paintings and limited edition prints (these are limited to 75 prints, all individually numbered and signed by the artist and are mounted).
