Peter Cotton
I was born in St Georges, Shropshire in 1947 and have remained in the area ever since. In 1958 I won first county prize in a Brooke Bond
national schools competition and later acquired an A-level in art. On leaving school I followed my father into industry as a steel worker
but always painted as a pastime. I’ve always had a love of the countryside so painting wildlife comes as second nature. I paint mainly in
oils on canvas or board.
In 2005 I took early retirement and concentrated more on my art work. Perhaps one day if I don’t leave it too late I may turn professional!
