Michael Demain
Michael was born in Accrington, Lancashire
where he still lives with his wife and two children.
He has exhibited
widely around the north of England and has entered several open exhibitions
including the Haworth open which he won in 1997 and the British Society
of Painters Spring Open which he won the following year. His work
is now mainly sold through the Longridge Gallery in the Ribble valley,
privately and to commission. He has a strong following in Scotland
and has sold in London through Sotheby's and the Alexandra Llewelyn
Gallery in Waterloo. In 1999 he was invited to exhibit at Harrods
for the Africat charity event in aid of cheetahs.
Michael is
a member of Marwell Wildlife Art Society and the Wildlife Art Society,
his work can be seen at events organised by these societies. He also
exhibits in Liverpool at the annual Wildlife Art exhibition run by
NEWA, where in 2002 his work was commended.
When he is not working
Michael relaxes by walking among the Bowland Fells where much of the
inspiration for his work comes from. He turned professional in 1999.
